My name is Laurianne, I’m a French girl who became a Californian in 2014 and I’d like to share my journey to becoming a better version of myself. I’ve always been skinny, but this doesn’t necessarily mean you are healthy, or even less that you love your body and are comfortable in your own skin. From an eating disorder to a low self-esteem, I’ve always fought against my insecurities and negative thoughts, while struggling with a body image I never really appreciated, probably too demanding with myself.

I finally decided to make a change. January 2016 marked the date I started my fitness/health journey, inspired and surrounded by strong and powerful women who are willing to make an impact on others and work for a better and healthier version of themselves. At this moment, I decided to get out of my comfort zone and develop a daily routine. The progress I’ve seen helped me love my self-image. Little by little, I started to accept and respect my body. It has not been easy and I’m still learning every single day how to accept who I am but instead of complaining, I made the commitment to push myself, set goals to live a healthier life, and simply be happy. I recently had to face some challenges that resulted in a complete change in my routine in order to regulate my hormonal imbalance and fix my metabolism damage. It has been hard but that made me realize how essential listening to your body is. At this moment, I just decided to put my well-being as a priority.

"Fitness is more than hours at the gym, it’s a lifestyle on loving your body."

By sharing my story, I’m hoping to inspire some of you to join the movement and to start your own journey to becoming the best of you. I truly believe that every single woman deserves to be happy, no matter what she has been through. We all have a role to play by empowering each other. Don’t forget: your life is your movie – why not start being the main star today?
